In 1981 I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with
a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree majoring in visual communications. I
was a successful freelance graphic designer specializing in package
design but I stopped enjoying my design work when the pressure of
time constraints and difficult clients clashed with the integrity of
my work. I took a hiatus from graphic design and became a stay at
home mom to two beautiful daughters. Over time I became more and
more interested in the healing arts.
In the late 1990’s I became a Usui Reiki Practitioner. Reiki is a
wonderful healing non-invasive modality. I’ve performed countless
sessions and each session is never quite the same. I receive so much
gratification knowing I am part of this healing modality that is so
soothing to receive.
It was the first of two serious horseback riding accidents that
led me to receive chiropractic treatment. I went for adjustments and
ended up with a job working in the office for three years. It was at
the urging of the two massages therapist that I worked with that
inspired me to enroll in massage therapy. I continued working in the
chiropractic office while attending massage therapy school.
After graduation I became the massage therapist at the
chiropractic clinic and worked there for over two years. The
experience I gained has been of tremendous value as I have worked on
all age groups, various injuries and problems. I had the advantage
of being able to confer with the doctor whenever I had a question.
With the experience I was gathering I learned that I preferred
doing restorative massages as opposed to the deep tissue work that
the majority of patients requested or required. It was during the
deeply relaxing, quiet massages that, as with Reiki, I would pick up
messages or sense somebody else in the room. I intuitively know what
type of technique the individual needs and what area of the body I
need to focus on.
The greatest insights always come to me when I am working on the
head/neck/shoulder area. During one session I was guided to talk to
my client about what I was picking up. She was thrilled and relieved
that I was communicating with her beloved grandmother with whom she
had a very close relationship. It was then that I knew I needed to
leave the chiropractic clinic and pursue a private practice. I am
now able to utilize my gift intuitive gifts of psychometry and
mediumship.
I am thrilled that I have found my path. I truly love what I do
and feel tremendous gratification with not only bringing much
needed, deep relaxation to an individual but to also be able to tune
into a Deceased Loved One and relay a loving, warm message. It’s a
gratification I’ve never felt with any other line of work. I’ve come
full circle beginning with work in visual communications to
communications of a divine sort.
I am a recent graduate of Indian Head Massage and am completing
the requirements for certification from the American Institute of
Indian Head Massage. This is a wonderful non-invasive modality that
allows the recipient to remain fully clothed, sitting in a chair.
The upper back, shoulders, arms, neck, scalp and face are worked in
a specific, soothing manner. This method is based on Aryuvedic
principles.
